App Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-12
These terms govern your use of the Fintecy application at https://app.fintecy.co and its associated APIs (the "App"). They apply in addition to our Website Terms, Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Open Banking & Connected Accounts disclosure. If you purchase a paid subscription, our Terms & Conditions for the Supply of Services also apply.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Who We Are
The App is operated by Fintecy Ltd ("Fintecy", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 12721337, with its registered office at 47 Amelia House, 2 Strand Drive, Richmond, England, TW9 4EZ. Contact: support@fintecy.co.
The Service
The App lets you record, import and connect your financial accounts and build one picture of your financial life: banking, trading and planning, in a ledger you own and can export in full at any time.
Fintecy is a decision-support tool, not an adviser. Projections are deterministic calculations based on data and assumptions you control. Nothing in the App is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and Fintecy Ltd is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. Decisions you make based on the App are your own; for regulated advice, consult an authorised professional.
Invitation-Only Access
The App currently operates on an invitation-only basis. Access is granted through personal invitations to waitlist members, and capacity opens up in stages. Features may evolve as the product develops; we will notify you of material changes as described in these terms.
Whatever stage the product is at, one thing does not change: your data remains yours, exportable in full, and protected as described in our Privacy Policy and on the security page.
Your Account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the App.
- Keep your sign-in method secure. Authentication is passwordless (OAuth or magic link, with optional multi-factor authentication, which we strongly recommend enabling).
- You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us immediately at support@fintecy.co if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One account per person. You may not share, sell or transfer your account.
Your Data
- You own your data. Everything you put into the App — accounts, transactions, plans, documents — remains yours. We claim no rights over it beyond the limited licence below.
- You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, back up and display your data, solely as needed to provide the service to you. This licence ends when the data is deleted.
- You can export everything, in a machine-readable format, at any time, and delete your account whenever you choose.
- We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train AI models. AI assistants can access your data only through OAuth grants you approve and can revoke.
Connected Accounts
Connecting brokers and other institutions works as described in the Open Banking & Connected Accounts disclosure: connections use read-only API keys you generate with your institution, we never see your online banking username or password, and Fintecy cannot move your money. Open banking bank feeds are in development and will be covered by the same disclosure when they launch. You are responsible for having the right to connect any account you connect.
Acceptable Use
Our Acceptable Use Policy applies to the App. In short: lawful purposes only, no attempts to breach security or access other users' data, no abusive load, no reverse engineering beyond what law permits.
Availability
We aim for the App to be available continuously but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend the service for maintenance, security or legal reasons; where practical we will give notice. Our resilience targets and current posture are published on the security page.
Intellectual Property
The App, its software, design and branding are owned by Fintecy Ltd or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App for managing your own finances. The Trademark Notice governs use of the Fintecy brand.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under English law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that:
- The App is provided "as is", without warranties beyond those implied by law that cannot be excluded.
- We are not liable for losses arising from decisions you make based on information or projections in the App, for the accuracy of data supplied by third parties (banks, brokers, market data providers), or for events outside our reasonable control.
- If you use the App as a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.
- For any liability we do have, our total liability to you in respect of the App is limited to the greater of £100 and the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Termination
You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service — in the last case we will give you at least 30 days' notice and the opportunity to export your data. Deletion of your data after termination follows the retention terms in the Privacy Policy.
Changes To These Terms
We may revise these terms as the product develops. For material changes we will notify registered users by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by English law. If you are a consumer, you benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the country you live in, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales or, if different, your country of residence within the UK. If you use the App as a business, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
